Flybarless (kurz FBL) bezieht sich auf Rotorköpfe ohne zusätzliche Paddel, Paddelstange (Flybar) und den benötigten Anlenkungen.
Das bringt nun gleich eine Reihe von Vor- und Nachteilen mit sich.
Generell kann gesagt werden, dass Rotoren mit mehr als zwei Hauptrotorblättern keine Flybar besitzen.
Vorteile
Die größten Vorteile des Flybarless Systems sind:
- Die geringere Rotationsmasse sowie verringerter Luftwiderstand und die daraus folgend
- höhere Manövrierfähigkeit
- geringerer Energieverbrauch
- größere Leistungsreserve
- potenziell höhere Wendigkeit
- geringere Windanfälligkeit
- neutraleres/stabileres Flugverhalten
Außer Frage steht auch die Verwendung für Rotoren mit mehr als zwei Hauptrotorblättern.
Nachteile
- Einer der größten Nachteile ist das Wegfallen der Zusätzlichen Stabilität der Flybars. Was zur Auswirkung hat, dass eine Reihe zusätzlicher Komponenten wie folgend benötigt werden um die nötige Stabilität zum Flug zu gewinnen. Ohne diese zusätzlichen Komponenten ist es zwar möglich einen solchen Helikopter zu fliegen, es erweist sich aber als sehr schwierig.
- Elektronischer Stabi (bestehend aus 3 Kreiselsystemen und der Auswerteelektronik)
- Mixer
- Höherer Preis der benötigten Elektronik
- Es sollten spezielle Blätter ohne Vorlauf verwendet werden. Dadurch ist man eingeschränkter in der Auswahl.
- Meist wird empfohlen Digitalservos zu verwenden die teurer sind und mehr Strom verbrauchen.
- FBL-Helis gibt immer häufiger fertig zu kaufen. Ansonsten muss häufig noch nachträglich umgerüstet werden. Ausnahmen z.B.: TD Rigid, Mikado Logo Serie...
Bei Kauf eines flybarless Helikopters ohne Zusatzelektronik, wird auch gleich der Kauf von Plastiktüten/Plastiksackerl empfohlen.
